Capture Tip and Equipment

Filter

The capture tip is a fundamental component of lightning protection systems. Installed at the highest point of the structure, this system safely conducts lightning currents to the grounding system. This protection method, consisting of a simple metal tip, a down conductor, and a grounding section, provides a specific protection cone using the α peak angle and the rolling sphere method.

Lightning Rod Equipment

These are important components that determine the reliability of lightning protection systems. This equipment has passed specific wind resistance tests and meets high performance standards.

Stainless Steel Lightning Rod

Stainless steel lightning rod has high durability and corrosion resistance properties. These tips are resistant to external factors and offer reliable performance over long periods of use. They are particularly preferred in harsh weather conditions such as humidity and rain. Although V2A stainless steel products are generally used, V4A products, which are more resistant to corrosion, are preferred depending on the conditions of the application site.

Chrome-Plated Brass Capture Tip

Chrome-plated brass combines a protective chrome layer with the durability of brass. A thin chrome layer protects the brass from corrosion and provides moderate wear resistance.

Chrome-Plated Copper Clamping Tip

Chrome-plated copper with diameters of 16mm and 20mm is produced in sizes ranging from 200mm to 2000mm. The chrome plating protects the copper surface, extending the system's lifespan and enhancing conductivity.

Copper Clamping Tip

Copper capture tips are preferred due to their high electrical conductivity properties. These tips, produced in sizes ranging from 200mm to 2000mm in diameters of 16mm and 20mm, are widely used in passive lightning protection systems. The Copper Capture Tip defined by the Ministry of Public Works under Poz No. 35.750.1100 is included in this group and is manufactured from solid copper with a diameter of 20 mm (40 mm threaded section) and a length of 800 mm with a conical tip.

Aluminum Capture Tip

Aluminum capture tips are produced in 20 mm and 16 mm cross-sections, in various sizes ranging from 200 mm to 2000 mm. They can be easily used on concrete foundations. Additionally, they provide effective protection when used in multiple capture tip systems and in combination with a capture tip base. These products offer the most cost-effective solution within the capture tip group, compliant with standards.

Multiple Capture Tip

Increases the number of sharp tips to enhance the attraction force for capturing lightning. These systems, made of copper, have a standard 3/8"-16 thread diameter. Preferred for protecting large areas, these systems efficiently collect lightning current and safely transmit it through the capture tip base.

They are compatible with Omega-type and wall-type bases. These systems are widely used in Europe, especially due to their easy installation with accessories suitable for roof tiles and roof characteristics. However, regular maintenance and inspection are required to ensure the system's reliability.

Tripod Capture Tip

It is primarily used to protect roof elements and devices (roof windows, air conditioners, ventilation units, ventilation ducts) from lightning strikes. Thanks to its three-legged concrete bases, it provides adequate wind resistance. It is designed to withstand wind speeds ranging from 97 km/h to 258 km/h. With height options ranging from 3 meters to 8 meters, it offers the ability to protect large areas. For this reason, it is highly preferred in applications using the rolling sphere method. The aluminum body and tip ensure corrosion resistance.

Capture Tip Bases

These bases play an important role as mounting and fixing elements for lightning protection systems. They are produced in various types and material properties according to different building types and mounting requirements.

Horizontal Type

Horizontal type bases are designed for use on flat surfaces. These bases, made of steel, are protected against corrosion with hot-dip galvanized coating. They can be produced in copper, brass, and aluminum depending on the application. They have an 8.0mm mounting hole diameter.

Strip Type

Strip type bases are preferred for the installation of strip conductors. These bases are produced in 4x25x3mm and 4x30x3mm dimensions. Available in copper and steel material options, these bases have a G 3/8" thread size.

Fixed Type

Fixed type bases are used in reinforced concrete structures. These bases are designed to safely transfer lightning energy to the grounding system. Additionally, these bases are compatible with multi-point capture systems and provide structural integrity. They are available in bronze, brass, and aluminum.

Parapet Type

Parapet type bases are used on building edges and wall tops. These bases are manufactured with a 6.0 mm mounting size. They can be produced in brass and aluminum.

Omega Type

Omega type bases are manufactured from steel or copper. These bases, which have an 8.00 mm mounting hole diameter, are protected against corrosion with hot-dip galvanized coating.

Ridge Type

Mahya type bases are specially designed for use on roof ridges. These bases, with metal bases made of hot-dip galvanized material, have a 4x50 mm conductor cross-section and mounting dimensions of 230 mm and 330 mm. The holding materials are produced in copper, galvanized, and aluminum depending on the conductor properties.

Tile Type

Tile type bases are specially designed for roof systems. These bases are mounted on the tile structure using the capture tip at the top of the lightning protection rod.

Movable Type

Movable type bases offer flexible mounting options. These bases can be adjusted at different angles and adapted to roof slopes. They can be produced with galvanized, copper, or aluminum holders depending on the application area.

Movable Omega Type

Movable omega-type bases are ideal for mounting capture bars in roof applications with different angles and are produced with StZn and Cu material options. Compatible with 30x3mm, 30x3.5, and 40x4mm galvanized and copper strips, these bases have a G 3/8" thread size.

Movable Ridge Type

Movable ridge type bases are specially designed for use on roof ridges. These bases, which have a conductor size of 2x50mm², are produced in mounting sizes of 230 mm and 330 mm.

Movable Tile Type

Movable tile type bases are designed for use on tile roofs. These bases ensure that the capture rods located on the roof or at the highest point of the structure are correctly positioned and secured.
